How It Works

Clear steps to access support that suits you
Getting started with allied health support should be simple. Whether you are accessing services through the NDIS or privately, we’ll guide you through each step and make sure you know exactly what to expect.

Support That Starts With You

We begin every service by understanding your goals, preferences, and the type of support that will make the biggest difference. From your first enquiry through to ongoing sessions, our process is designed to be clear, flexible, and responsive to your needs.

Our Simple Step-by-Step Process

1. Reach Out
Contact us directly or through your support coordinator.
2. Initial Discussion
We’ll talk through your needs, eligibility, and preferred services.
3. Service Agreement
We outline the plan, schedule, and costs (NDIS or private).
4. First Appointment
Meet your clinician and start working toward your goals.
5. Ongoing Support
We check in, review progress, and adapt as your needs evolve.
6. Review and Next Steps
Measure progress together and update your plan or transition when ready.

How NDIS Works

If you have NDIS funding, we can help you make the most of your plan. People First Allied Health is a registered NDIS provider, offering supports under both Capacity Building and Core Supports.
Plan-Managed Participants
We invoice your plan manager directly.
Self-Managed Participants
You manage your own invoices; we provide all required documentation.
Your coordinator or our team can help confirm which option applies to you and how to get started. We also communicate directly with support coordinators to keep the process seamless.

Funding Options and Eligibility

Not everyone receives support through the NDIS, and that’s completely fine. You can still access the same services privately or through other funding programs.

Private Clients
You can access our services directly without a referral. Private sessions are ideal for individuals, families, or workplaces seeking support for health and wellbeing. Fees will vary depending on the service type and session length, and our team will provide a clear cost outline before you begin.
Medicare Referrals
If your GP provides a Mental Health Care Plan or Enhanced Primary Care Plan, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on certain services such as psychology or occupational therapy. We’ll help you understand your options and the process for claiming rebates.
Private Health Insurance
Some health funds offer rebates for allied health services. Contact your provider to check your coverage for psychology, occupational therapy, or speech pathology.
Workplace or Third-Party Referrals
We also work with employers, rehabilitation programs, and insurance providers to deliver allied health support for employees or clients recovering from injury, stress, or life changes.

What to Expect When You Get in Touch

Once you reach out, our intake team will contact you to confirm your details, discuss your goals, and match you with the right clinician. We’ll explain available funding options, book your first session, and guide you through any forms or documentation required.

Choose the Way You Want to Connect

All services can be delivered through secure video sessions, face-to-face appointments (where available), or a blended approach. You can choose the format that fits best with your schedule, location, and comfort level.

Video Sessions
Convenient and secure sessions from the comfort of your home.
Face-to-Face
In-person support where available.
Blended
A mix of video and in-person appointments, tailored to your needs.

Let’s Take the Next Step Together

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. When you get in touch, you’ll be speaking with people who understand and want to help.

Whether it’s an enquiry or a referral, we’ll make the process simple and supportive.
